- TERMS & CONDITIONS
Plain-English terms.
These are the terms for all apps published by Scribble Apps and Ova Nova on the Google Play Store, including Voxa, Friends Trivia Quiz, and The Office Trivia Quiz. By installing or using one of our apps, you agree to them. Last updated 31 August 2026.

01 The short version
Our apps are free to download. Voxa has an optional one-time Pro upgrade that unlocks extra features - it is not a subscription, and there is nothing to renew or cancel.
Everything runs on your device. If you buy Pro, we commit to keeping Voxa working and supported for at least 24 months from your purchase. After that, the app carries on working on your device - there is no kill switch.
02 Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use our apps on devices you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms. You are buying a licence to use the software, not the software itself.
We own the apps, their code, design, artwork, and branding. You may not resell, redistribute, rent, or sublicense them, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass paid features, except where the law expressly allows it.
Distribution through the Google Play Store is also subject to Google Play’s Terms of Service. Where Google’s terms cover the sale itself, they apply alongside these terms.
03 Voxa Pro
Voxa is free to download and use. Voxa Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features. At the time of writing those are unlimited soundboards and sounds, fade in and fade out, background playback, tap actions, per-sound settings, light and dark mode, accent colour options, and the removal of ads.
What you should know
- It is not a subscription. You pay once. No recurring charge, no renewal, nothing to cancel.
- It is tied to your Google account, not to a single device. You can reinstall Voxa or move to a new Android device and restore Pro from within the app.
- Google is the seller. In-app purchases are processed by Google Play, and Google is the merchant of record.
- The feature set may change. We may add to Pro, and we may occasionally reorganise it. We will not take a headline Pro feature you paid for and put it behind a further payment.
04 Support and updates
Voxa is built and maintained by one person, so here is exactly what support you can expect.
If you buy Voxa Pro, we commit to providing bug fixes and Android compatibility updates for at least 24 months from the date of your purchase. In practice we intend to support the app for as long as it has an active user base; 24 months is the minimum commitment.
“Support” here means updates and fixes. It does not mean the app stops working afterwards. Voxa runs entirely on your device, with no account and no server, so an installed copy keeps working whether or not we are still shipping updates.
We do not guarantee that any particular feature request will be built, or that the app will work on every device, Android version, or manufacturer customisation.
05 If we stop updating or distributing an app
We may stop developing or distributing any of our apps at any time. If we discontinue Voxa, then:
- We will post a notice on this site and, where we can, in the release notes and Play Store listing.
- Copies already installed on your device will keep working. There is no kill switch and we will not add one.
- We will aim to give at least 90 days’ notice before removing an app from the Play Store, so anyone who wants to reinstall it or restore a purchase has time to do so.
- Once an app is removed from the Play Store, restoring a purchase on a new device may no longer be possible. That is a Play Store limitation and outside our control.
If we discontinue Voxa within the 24-month support window above and you can no longer use Pro as a result, contact us and we will sort it out fairly, including a refund where that is the right outcome.
06 Your content and acceptable use
Voxa lets you record audio and import audio files from your device. That content stays yours. It never leaves your device, we never see it, and we claim no rights over it - see our privacy policy.
Because we cannot see it, we also cannot police it: you are responsible for having the right to use any audio you record or import, and for how you use it. Do not use our apps to infringe copyright, to harass anyone, or to break the law.
Your soundboards and settings are stored on your device. Backing them up is up to you - if you uninstall the app, wipe your device, or lose it, we have no copy to restore.
07 Advertising
Our free apps may show interstitial advertisements to cover development costs. Buying Voxa Pro removes ads from Voxa. What advertisers collect, and how to limit it, is covered in our privacy policy.
08 Refunds
In-app purchases are sold and refunded by Google. Google Play offers an automatic refund window shortly after purchase, and you can request a refund through your Google Play order history.
Once that window has closed, refunds are at our discretion - but if Voxa Pro does not work as described, get in touch and we will either fix it or refund you.
None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
09 Warranties and liability
We build these apps carefully, but we cannot promise they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device. Beyond what is set out in these terms and required by law, the apps are provided as they are.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with an app is limited to the amount you paid us for it - which, for a free app, is nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost recordings or soundboards, or for anything that goes wrong during a stream, lesson, performance, or event where you were relying on the app.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in the UK, digital content you buy from us must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and no term here changes that. Consumers in the EU and elsewhere keep the equivalent protections under their own local law.
10 Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your home country, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
If these terms materially change, the “last updated” date at the top will move and we will note the change in the next app update’s release notes. Changes are not retrospective: the support commitment that applied when you bought Voxa Pro is the one that stands.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions about any of it - contact us.
